My Promise To You

The Knitting Rooms’ mission is supply high quality yarns to knitters and crocheters throughout the local Fond du Lac community and beyond. The Knitting Room will also be supplying embroidery materials and with that comes creative gift ideas.

My goal is to help everyone express their creativity, improve their skills, and find camaraderie between friends – new and old. A place to gather and feel welcome. Come on in and get your daily fuel. Complimentary coffee and tea provided.

April Workshops

Easter is right around the corner, and we’re celebrating by knitting rabbits at our upcoming workshop!
Join us to make your own knit rabbit, just in time for Easter! Join us on Saturday, April 1 from 10am-1pm as Sheri takes you through how to create “Henry’s Rabbit by Sara Elizabeth Kellner” They’re so cute, that you’ll want to make another!
Cost: $20 + materials.

Have you always wanted to learn how to embroider? It’s not as tough as you think! With a little practice, you’ll pick it up in no time! Join us on Thursday, April 6 from 5:30-7:30pm to try your hand at embroidering!
This class includes of one Alyssa Thomas’, owner of Penguin & Fish and native of Fond du Lac, lovely and quirky embroidery wall kits, an ideal kit for beginners. This embroidery kit includes everything you need to finish your own piece of beautiful hoop art!
These make great baby gifts and will add a special, personalized touch to any nursery.
Cost: $25.00 and includes materials.

Come and learn how to knit with beads to discover a simple way to embellish your knitting! We will be using the Silvia Harding pattern, Aquitaine – a pair of stylish gauntlets (fingerless gloves).
Some beads are pre-strung and some are placed with the add-as-you-go crochet hook method for a variety of effects. You’re encouraged to make your own bead modifications to create a completely unique work of art – don’t forget to check out Beadalotta for a great bead selection!

Materials for this class include
– Aquitaine pattern
– US 1 double point needles (or 2 circ or 1 long circ)
– 1 skein of sock yarn (approximately 300 yards)
– .6 mm crochet hook or steel 10 or 12 crochet hook – hook must be able to fit in beads chosen.
– Bead requirements: for small (medium,large):
– 6/0 bead option 1: color A, 42 (48,54) beads; color B, 112 (128,144) beads; color C, 28 beads; color D, 28 beads.
– 6/0 bead option 2: Use only colors A & B
– 6/0 bead option 3: Use one bead color for all types of beads – 210 (232,254) beads.
Homework: With US 1 and sock yarn cast on 12 stitches ( you may use scrap sock yarn for the sample). Work K1,P1 ribbing for 2-3 inches. Do not cast off your stitches – leave the work on the needles and bring to class.

During our upcoming  Turkish Tiles Dishcloth” by Rebekah Yeager workshop, you’ll learn how to make a beautiful dishcloth and you’ll even walk away with a bar of handmade soap!
This is a symmetrical, two-color slip stitch design, inspired by Turkish tiling! The final result is an attractively textured and patterned cloth.

Our KAL participants are having a blast creating Chasing Blizzards” by Kati Gumenius. This pattern is a simple asymmetrical scarf for chilly winter days, which we’ve had a few of lately. Everyone’s projects are turning out great, and they must be helping chase and keep the blizzards away so we can finally welcome spring!
Chasing Blizzard is a simple asymmetrical scarf for chilly winter days. Not too fancy; just stripes and simple mesh lace, so this goes nicely for all styles and genders. Just pick two of your favorite contrasting skeins of next-to-skin soft yarn, cast on and follow the instructions.
We invite you to drop-in and create with us! The only cost for KAL is for your materials. The KAL participants meet Wednesdays 10:30am-12pm with new projects every 6-8 weeks.

This two session workshop is for the introductory level of knitting. You will learn the basics of knitting, including casting on, knitting, purling, and binding off. Plus, we’ll help you get started on your first project!
Are you interested in learning how to crochet? Sure, we’re called The Knitting Room but we’re happy to teach you how to crochet!

Policies and Procedures

Space is limited in classes. Sign-ups close 48 hours prior to the first class. Full payment is required to reserve a space in class. Unless otherwise noted, supplies and pattern costs are not included in the class fee. Copyrighted patterns for sale may not be copied or duplicated. All supplies purchased specifically for your class at The Knitting Room receive a 10% discount. Unless otherwise specified, all supplies for classes should be purchased
at The Knitting Room.

Cancellation Policy

Class fees are refundable for store credit up to 48 hours prior to the first class. Classes cancelled with 48 hours of the first class are non-refundable. The class schedule is subject to change and modifications. The Knitting Room reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes. Participants will be notified of all adjustments made to the schedule.
